Amazon is now in Metz!
With a storage area of 185,000 square metres spread over four floors and an investment of 250 million euros, Amazon has finally opened its largest French warehouse in Metz.
A strategic location at the crossroads of the main European markets
Amazon’s eighth centre in France will serve customers in the east of the Hexagon. With its access to the A31 and A4 motorways, Metz enables the global e-commerce leader to serve Eastern France with medium-sized parcels, its specialisation. The opening has already created “several hundred” jobs, according to the head of the new distribution site, Angeline Bilodeau, and the e-commerce giant is not stopping there. By 2024, the Metz shop is also committed to hiring 1000 permanent workers.
At the heart of this achievement is innovation : this is the second Amazon warehouse to use Amazon Robotics technology. The new warehouse has 25 kilometres of treadmills and no fewer than 2,800 robots.
