40 million investment to create a high-end tourist complex near Charleville-Mezières
By 2027, almost 180 top-of-the-range tourist accommodations will have been built on the remarkable Ardennes site of the Sept Fontaines abbey, near Charleville-Mezières.
A major high-end project
Launched in early 2023, this large-scale project is expected to create between fifteen and twenty employees when it opens in 2027, and almost 50 in the long term, with a capacity of over 1,000 people. Different accommodation configurations will be offered, ranging from two-person units to 24-person gites.
At the same time, another project led by local players aims to renovate the abbey to create a restaurant, seminar rooms and a wellness area.
An exceptional site and a collective committed to promoting it
Formerly the property of General de Gaulle’s in-laws in Fagnon, this magical site was home to a restaurant, hotel and golf course before being abandoned in recent years. Supported by leading Dutch vacation village developer Landal Green Parks, this new project was launched in 2022 by Invest Eastern France, Ardennes Développement and the Agence de Développement Touristique des Ardennes.
The advantages of the Ardennes’ location for Northern European customers, the site’s remarkable natural and cultural environment, and the responsiveness and involvement of all the local players convinced the group to develop this major project.
We wish the project owners every success in bringing this project to fruition!
