Endress + Hauser: New extension in Cernay
The Swiss measuring instrument group Endress + Hauser has just opened a 10,000 square metre extension to its factory in the Upper Rhine. “With an additional 10,000 square metres of production space, we are consolidating the Cernay site on a long-term basis,” says Managing Director Bernd-Josef Schäfer.
20.5 million euros invested in the Region
In order to better meet the specific demands of the food, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, Endress + Hauser has invested 13.5 million euros in this extension and 7 million euros in production lines with higher standards. Although the inauguration is taking place now, the plant has been in operation since 2020. Although the Covid-19 pandemic has delayed the opening, it has still given a boost to demand.
In addition, in order to solve space problems in an existing production line, an extra 1.2 million was invested in the construction of a new building of about 1,000 square metres. The new building is equipped with special loading ramps for transport trucks.
