Alpro invests €16.5 million in Alsace
With growing demand on the plant-based market, the leading plant-based beverage company has invested a large sum in its Issenheim site in September 2021 to increase production.
Alsace: a strategic location for the production of soy-based drinks
Half of the 200 million plant-based beverage cartons that the Issenheim plant produces each year are soy-based drinks. With almost 400 soy producers in Alsace, the plant has an ideal location with suppliers to begin its goal of producing an additional 70,000 tonnes of plant-based beverages each year from July 2022. Thus, the soy in the drinks will be 100%, 80% of which will be Alsatian.
An investment that will generate job creation in the region
With its 35 years of existence, the Alpro site in Issenheim has been in existence for 35 years and already employs 200 people. With this new investment, there will be about fifty new hires. According to the director of the Issenheim site, the growth in the field of plant-based drinks is incredible. The investment was made to meet the demand of the French.
