New player in Eastern France: Belgian Foodtech company MAASH has acquired METEX NØØVISTA!
The Belgian startup, MAASH, specializes in producing protein alternatives to meat and has established operations at the industrial platform in Carling – Saint-Avold, known as CHEMESIS. Founded in 2021 in Brussels, MAASH has entered the market of plant proteins based on the fermentation of mushrooms, known as mycoproteins.
To industrialize its processes and supply the European market, MAASH took over the fermentation plant that was put into operation in 2021 by METEX NØØVISTA in Carling (Moselle). The plant has been under judicial review since March 2024. Ten jobs are maintained for the beginning, and the plans are to create 70 new jobs within three years.
Several stakeholders in the territory, including Business France Invest, Moselle Attractivité and Invest Eastern France with the support of the Région Grand Est and the Communauté d’agglomération de Saint-Avold Synergie, have actively mobilized to complete this recovery project in Moselle.
We wish MAASH the best in its setting up in Eastern France!
