Platinium 3D and CRITT Materials Innovation team up to make the Ardennes a hub for additive manufacturing
In the Ardennes (Eastern France), Platinium 3D and CRITT Matériaux Innovation are teaming up to make Charleville-Mézieres a hub for additive manufacturing. This initiative is supported by Ardennes Métropole, the state, the Grand Est Region and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Two major players in additive manufacturing of the Ardennes...
“There is a nice complementarity between the two structures,” explains Philippe Bello, President of Platinium 3D.
On the one hand, Platinium 3D: a technology platform that accompanies companies in their development. It promotes their understanding of additive manufacturing. With the most diverse machine park in France, Platinum 3D covers all known processes in additive manufacturing. The platform has also forged partnerships with leading companies and academia. This has enabled him to support more than 150 companies. Among these companies: 3D Metal Industrie,, today a major player in additive manufacturing internationally. Platinium 3D also contributed to the creation of Armytec 3D, a GIE grouping of SMEs wishing to establish themselves in the defense market.
On the other hand, the Regional Centre for Material Analysis and Testing (CRITT): a research and development centre. He specializes in the study and characterization of materials and their surface properties. With 250 members, nearly 1,500 customers, 200 of which are exported, and 3,000 studies carried out per year, CRITT has gained European recognition. The center is particularly recognized in the fields of implantable medical devices, aeronautics and metal materials processing.
. . . for a partnership in favor of innovation
By combining their resources and expertise, Platinium 3D and CRITT aim to offer an even more diverse range of skills to their clients and partners. The two leaders stated “This agreement should give impetus to additive manufacturing and contribute to the development of a virtuous circle of innovation by attracting new companies here and by provoking investments to boost productivity”.
In order to achieve this ambition, both actors have defined their objectives. Platinium 3D and CRITT want to strengthen the attractiveness of Charleville-Mézires. They also aspire to access new national and international markets. This alliance should also facilitate the creation of new collaborative projects.
