7 tree trekking paths set up in the Schlossberg Park in Forbach – Moselle

On Monday 16 October 2023, the Mayor of Forbach, Alexandre Cassaro, and Arnaud Mahy, President of Ecopark Adventures, signed a partnership agreement to formalize the development of seven tree trekking paths in the Schlossberg Park in Forbach (Moselle).

Effective support that facilitated the implementation of the project

Accompanied by Invest Eastern France and the Moselle attractivié agency in its search for a site to develop an innovative and nature-friendly tree trekking park, Ecopark Adventures quickly turned to the Schlossberg site. Arnaud Mahy found there a remarkable site and views as well as a great reactivity of the various actors involved to facilitate the implementation of this project. “This establishment was really facilitated by the support of Invest Eastern France, Moselle Attractivity and, of course, the City of Forbach. On a site like this, we will create one of the most beautiful acrobranch parks in France,” he said on the occasion.

Safe and environmentally friendly tree trekking paths

The tree trekking paths will be accessible from the age of 5 years safely (thanks to the continuous lifeline system) and built with respect for the forest and the environment.

This location is part of the city of Forbach’s tourism development strategy, with the Schlossberg as an unmissable site on the Eastern Moselle. The investment will amount to about 400,000 euros and the routes should be accessible from Easter 2024. With 90 to 100 “workshops” integrated into the various paths, 25,000 visitors are expected in this very large park from 2024. Around 15 jobs are expected to be created in the middle of the season.

The establishment of this tourism project in Eastern France is fully integrated into the regional development strategy geared towards sustainable tourism in search of meaning, nature, authenticity and the new with fluid, personalized and irreproachable services in terms of eco-responsibility.
